The ultimate reason everyone takes Driver’s Ed is to get their license. It’s a rite of passage. It’s part of becoming an adult. It will open doors and make you more independent, but it can also stress you out and keep you up at night; tossing and turning and worrying about the embarrassment of failing and the inconvenience of having to take the test again.
If the thought of a DMV visit feels like an obstacle course that’s set up just for you to fail, you’ve come to the right place. As promised, The Next Street is still working diligently at maneuvering through each office in Connecticut; stick with us and your next trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles will be a joy ride.
The Wethersfield Department of Motor Vehicles can look pretty intimidating at first glance, but there’s no need to panic because your friends at The Next Street are back at it again.
When you hear ‘Department of Motor Vehicles’ do your palms start to sweat? Do you have horrid flashbacks of a gray room full of plastic chairs, irritated expressions, and transaction tickets? Don’t go panicking just yet; we’re working hard to tackle some of the hassles of each Connecticut DMV for you. I'll be visiting DMV's across the state to find out the insider info to help you get in and out as painlessly as possible.
Once you turn 16 you are eligible to apply for your permit. This can be done before or after you sign up for classes but must be done before any private driving lessons can be taken. If you don’t have your permit already, book your CT permit test now. Your license testing eligibility doesn’t start until you get your permit and the DMV often books dates 2 months out!
